June... Where did it go?

Despite the rainy and chilly weather we've had these past couple weeks, we still managed to spend some quality time outdoors. We enjoyed a visit from Grandma Ellen and a trip to the botanical gardens. Also, we have been able to escape to the pool a few times, not as many as we'd like, but we'll take what we can get. Another fun tradition we've introduced to the boys, now that they are a little older, is art of s'more making. This has become a fun activity in our neighborhood lately, as we are enjoying these little treats almost every weekend.

All the photos are pretty self-explanatory, except the last one, and that is Drew after an incident with some colored bubbles (which I will not buy again!)

We hope July brings some nicer weather and sunshine ~

Papa Larry

It is with great sadness to write about our profound loss of my Dad, "Papa Larry" on May 6th, 2011. He was a kind and gentle person, and such a wonderful Grandpa to the boys. He was so positive and pleasant to be around, I can only hope to go through life with such optimism and happiness. Even when he wasn't feeling well, he always kept his sense of humor alive and spirits high. The boys ask about Grandpa Larry often and we are keeping his memory alive for them with fun stories and pictures... Dad had expressed concern that maybe the boys wouldn't remember him, and we can assure you dad, that they will most definitely remember you! Reese still watches for the flashy sports cars as we drive and thinks everyone of them is a corvette. Even Drew, at his young age, remembers and never forgets to pray for Papa Larry. We miss you so much and love you!

Happy 4th Birthday, Reese!!

May 1st, 2011 ~ Oh my goodness! How is it that my baby Reese is 4 years old already!? I know it sounds cliche, but where does the time go? I am so happy to say that he is a mama's boy at heart and still loves to cuddle and hug... But when he is around his friends, which is quite often these days, he is rough, tough, and all boy! He is the social one of the family who thinks he needs a friend to play with 24/7... We just have a ball with Reese and he is a great brother to Drew, very protective and kind. They certainly watch out for each other and have each other's backs. I have always been so happy to have 2 boys, seeing those two bond and form a friendship is a really special thing. We feel so blessed! Happy Birthday, Reese! We love you all the way to the moon (and back)! Or as Reese says, to Kansas City or North Dakota! : )

Happy Easter

April 24th, 2011 ~ A belated post to share a few moments from our Easter this year. We spent the holiday in Kearney with both of our families. The boys enjoyed coloring eggs and even more so the Easter egg hunts... They were lucky enough to have 2 Easter egg hunts, one at each grandparents house. It is June 2nd and we have finally just finished off all of the candy!
