We had a fabulous little getaway to Florida a couple of weeks ago. It was Reese's 2nd trip on a plane and Drew's 1st. They both traveled well and were so excited to go on a plane to see the ocean (which we didn't do) and see Free Willy (ie Shamu), which we did do. We decided renting a car and driving to the beach would be time better spent when they are a little bit older. They were quite satisfied with lots of pool time at our resort, a trip to Sea World and a quick visit to Magic Kingdom. They met Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Jessie. We went on a few rides and enjoyed the sights of Disney World. We will say that Disney was not fully appreciated by them at this age. It was pretty overwhelming and even in February, very busy with visitors. Our best times were really spent just playing in the pool as both boys love to swim. Reese swam quite a bit on his own and Drew had no fear, which kept us very busy watching him constantly. "By self" was his main statement while in the water.
Overall it was a successful trip, and I say this because we have not exactly been the best travelers with these little guys. "Not the best" meaning, not at all (other than a road trip here and there). This was really our first big traveling experience and we had a great time. Good enough that on the way home in the airport we were talking about where we should go next with them. So in my mind that was a positive sign!
It's cold.
