Swimming update

Well, it took 4 classes of swim lessons until Reese felt comfortable without Gabe or myself in the pool with him. This only happens at swim lessons, he has no problem getting in at the other "social" pool. Dave Sall, the owner of Swimtastics, was so great with him and went "above and beyond" to help Reese adjust. I wish I would've had my camera today because he wore his goggles for most of the class. It was so darn cute to see his face squeezed under those things. He was even comfortable enough (and bold enough) to exit the pool in the middle of class and make a run for the slide. I guess he's feeling pretty confident.

Since I didn't have any pictures of him from swimming today, I thought I'd just post of few that I have taken over the past couple of days. Drew is smiling like crazy now and laughs out loud watching Reese, it's pretty cute and fun to watch.

Uncle Todd

I am warning you it is officially my first time "blogging". So here it goes!!! Oh, by the way, this is Gabe... It was a very hot and busy Father's Day weekend. My best friend Todd Batenhorst came up from Florida to see his godson Drew and play in my Member-Guest golf tournament. Todd and I didn't win the tournament but we had some laughs, got some sun, and had a few drinks... just a few.

Todd's first introduction to the boys came early after a late night of traveling; Reese woke him up on Thursday morning about 7 am by yelling "Bate!" several times and then he met his new godson soon after. It was a fun weekend and and an enjoyable Father's Day.

Family vacation

This post is a little behind as we went on a little family vacation last week, but I wanted to show-off a few pictures. They pretty much speak for themselves... Drew was either sleeping or eating the whole time and Reese had a ball at the water park. Gabe and I decided traveling is a bit overrated right now with the little ones... However, we both agreed it was well worth it just to get out of Omaha for a few days.

Happy Father's Day!

Gabe enjoyed his Father's Day this year with not just one, but two boys to love on... We made some breakfast in the morning and pretty much just relaxed the rest of the day. Gabe had a fun golf weekend, so he was content just hanging out with the boys (and me too, I guess). : )

Happy Father's Day, Gabe ~ Thank you for being such a hands-on, playful, involved, and most importantly, loving father to our boys! They are so lucky to have you for a father!!

Drew Thomas

Our little Drew is 3 1/2 months old already and he is changing everyday. He is rolling over and really holding up his head well. Today we had him laughing and giggling... It's really fun to see him watch Reese, his face lights up when Reese plays with him. This weekend we had "Uncle" Todd in to visit and play in a golf tournament with Gabe. Todd is one of Drew's godparents and was able to meet him for the first time this weekend. Pictures to come...

Junior golf

Reese is truly obsessed with golf... He is his father's son. In fact, Gabe and Reese spend so much time at the golf course and make trips to the pro-shop "for fun", Phil (the pro) had Reese his own personal putter made. Really? They do that? I guess they do. Or at least Phil does... He took a putter from the lost & found and cut it down, added a grip and called it good. It's quite cute and fits Reese just perfectly, and free of charge to boot! So instead of Reese requesting to go to the pool, he prefers to go putting. I'm thinking I better start working on my game because I don't foresee any spa trips in my future... I'm assuming (and hoping) Drew prefers golf over the spa as well!

The last picture I had to post of Drew because I finally captured some fun smiles... He is getting so big and I think he looks even more like Gabe than Reese. Oddly enough though, Drew in his newborn baby pictures, looks identical to my baby pictures. He's such a great baby, so sweet and happy, and such a good sleeper. We are very lucky to have these two boys in our lives!
