One week old

Today Drew is one week old and I can't believe how fast the time goes by... the nights are long and the days are busy, but it's such an amazing and short-lived time. I'm trying to enjoy every minute because I know from experience with Reese, it goes by way too fast. Here are a few updated pictures...

Leaving the hospital - so nice outside, 60 degrees and sunny

Time for a big bed!

As if Reese doesn't have enough going on with a new brother to adjust to, he's making the change to a big bed this week as well. It was by his choice though... Only a few days before Drew was born, Reese decided to make his exit out of his crib. Terrible timing and more than we really wanted to deal with, but overall it's going pretty well. Tonight is night #2 and he was asleep in 15 minutes. The mattress is on the floor, he has a plethora of toys and animals with him (as you can see), and some special sports sheets that he picked out all by himself at Target. His room has been "set-up" for some time now, so he's at least comfortable with his surroundings. We also have a gate in the doorway to keep him safe and confined. Hopefully tonight he won't wake up a 3 am to play and look out the window - like last night. Although, I'm sure it's bound to happen again...

Baby Brother

Reese became a big brother on March 2nd, 2009... We are so excited to welcome Drew Thomas into our lives. He is a such a good baby and Reese adores him, most of the time. He has been a bit jealous and it breaks my heart when he wants my attention. When asked if he likes his little brother, he gives his usual reply - ya. He gives him big smiles in the morning and calls out a drawn-out, high-pitched "Hi!" It's so fun to listen to and see him grow to love (hopefully!) his little brother. We are getting some pictures taken of both boys Thursday morning, so I will post the link to show some updated shots.
